그동안 베일에 싸여 있던 용산 대통령실 내 윤석열 전 대통령 집무실의 비밀 공간이 공개됐습니다.

사우나에 대형 침대, 응접실까지, 호텔 스위트룸 수준의 시설이 갖춰져 있었습니다.

김경수 기자의 보도입니다.

옛 용산 대통령실 2층, 윤석열 전 대통령 집무실 뒤에 마련된 내실입니다.

대형 침대 위에 호텔에서나 볼 법한 하얀색 이부자리가 깔렸습니다.

침실과 별도로 갖춰진 응접실에는 3인용 소파와 1인용 소파 2개가 마주 보고 있습니다.

침실과 응접실 바로 옆에는 사우나도 딸렸습니다.

편백 나무로 마감된 시설 내부에선 스토브와 건식 사우나용 돌들이 보입니다.

벽면에는 TV 모니터도 설치돼 있는데, 사우나를 하며 TV를 시청했을 거로 추정됩니다.

윤 전 대통령이 청사를 드나들 때 이용했던 비밀 통로도 공개됐습니다.

기존 주차장 벽을 허물고 지하 1층으로 이어지게 만든 길입니다.

외부에선 잘 보이지 않게 불투명 플라스틱으로 가려져 있습니다.

이 통로가 완공된 건 지난 2022년 11월 23일.

윤 전 대통령이 출근길에 기자들의 질문을 받던 '도어스테핑'을 전격 중단한 날로부터 이틀 뒤입니다.

일각에선 '지각 출근' 의혹 등이 제기된 윤 전 대통령이 취재진 눈을 피하려 했던 건 아닌지 의심하고 있습니다.

대통령 집무실이 청와대로 옮겨오면서, 용산 대통령실 내 윤 전 대통령의 비밀 공간은 곧 철거될 예정입니다.

하지만 소문으로만 떠돌던 전용 공간이 사실로 드러나며 국민과 역사의 평가를 받게 됐습니다.

집무실인가, 개인 별장인가? 보도를 보고 느낀 생각입니다.

 

이재명 정권이 들어서고... 이재명 정권은 집무실과 관저를 청와대로 복귀하거나 했습니다. 관저는 집무실보다는 늦게 들어갈 것으로 예상되고요.

 

위의 보도에 나온 내용은 이전 정권.. 윤석열 정권에서.. 이재명 정권이 집무실을 이전 한 뒤.. 철거를 앞둔 과거 정권의 집무실의 현장을 취재한 보도입니다.

 

내실, 응접실, 사우나

 

숙박 및 편의시설이 있는걸 볼 수 있는 부분입니다. 더욱이 이 시설들은 정작 원래 있었던 조직인 국방부가 상주하던 시설에는 없던 시설이었습니다. 결국 대통령실이 용산 국방부 청사로 이전하면서 신설된 시설이라는걸 알 수 있습니다. 일국의 대통령 집무실이 개인 휴양 시설처럼 꾸며져 있다는 걸 볼 수 있었습니다. 이를 본 국민들은 어찌 생각할까요?

 

집권기간동안 대통령이 사용한 비밀통로도 공개되었습니다. 이를 통해 취재진을 회피하며 집무실로 출근을 하는 모습을 예상할 수 있습니다. 그 근거가 집권뒤에 얼마 지나지 않아 도어스테핑 중단이 이를 뒷받침 합니다. 이번 공개된 비밀통로가 공개되면 보안상 문제가 되느냐? 이미 대통령 집무실이 청와대로 이전을 했으니 보안상 문제는 없을 겁니다. 거기다 곧 철거될 예정이기도 하죠.

 

이를 두고 많은 이들은 비난합니다. 대부분 돈.. 국가 예산을 언급하죠.

 

오히려 이재명 정권과 문재인 정권을 들먹이며 윤석열 전 대통령을 옹호하는 댓글도 보입니다. 정확히는 물타기. 논점흐림을 유도할려는 댓글로 보입니다. [이전 정권은 더했다.]라는 프레임과 이재명 대통령에 대한 논란을 언급하며 비난을 하죠.

 

특히나 경제 운운하며.. 정확히 위의 보도와는 논점이 한참 빗나간 댓글이 눈에 많이 띕니다.

 

그렇게 현재 정권을 옹호하며... 윤석열 대통령에 대한 비난을 최소화하는 이들에게선.. 정작 중요한 포인트는 회피합니다.

 

이미 집무실 이전에 들어간 예산등을 언급하며 윤석열 전 대통령을 비난하는 이들이 있다고 언급했습니다. 

 

옹호하는 이들은 [있을 수 있지.. 뭐가 문제냐]는 식의 반박도 하죠.

 

위의 보도에 나온 공간... 집무실입니다. 관저가 아닙니다. 일하는 곳입니다.

 

다르게 말하면.. 윤석열 정권에서 대통령은 집무실에서 잠을 자고 사우나도 했다는 의미입니다. 일하다 말고 사우나 들어가고 잠도 자고 했다는 의미도 됩니다. 그 근거가 위의 보도에 나온 집무실입니다.

 

그리고... 똑같은 시설(침대, 응접실, 사우나)이 과연... 관저.. 대통령이 잠을 자고 쉬는 그곳에는 없었을까요?

 

결국 저걸 조성하는데 들어가는 비용... 국민의 혈세입니다. 국민이 낸 세금으로 만든 것이죠. 

 

비난할 법하지 않을까요?

 

아마도 이전 정권... 문재인 정권을 언급하며 똑같다며 물타기를 할지도 모르겠습니다.

 

그런데... 위의 사례에 문재인 정권을 언급하며 물타기를 한다면... 두가지의 태생적 비난을 반박할 무언가가 필요하지 않을까 예상합니다.

 

하나는... 문재인 정권의 집무실과 관저는 청와대입니다. 윤석열 정권의 집무실 환경과 같다면... 청와대에도 있지 않겠냐는 논리가 됩니다. 그렇다면... 애초 용산으로 이전하지 않았다면 추가비용 없이 그대로 시설을 이용하면 혈세가 낭비될 일이 없는 부분입니다. 근데 별의별 이유를 들어 청와대에서 나와 용산으로 이전을 강행하면서.. 저 시설 만든다고... 관저도 아니고 집무실에 편의시설을 만들었습니다. 그것도 과거 합참(합동참모본부)가 있는 건물에 말이죠. 정작 관저에도 같은 시설이 있죠.

 

시설 조성에 들어간 혈세가 과하다는 비판을 이전 정권을 들먹이는 것만으로는 피할 수 없을 것입니다.

 

두번째는 역대 정권의 대통령은 모두 청와대에 집무실과 관저가 있었습니다. 문재인 정권도 이전 정권에서 쓰는 집무실과 관저를 그대로 받은 것이고.. 그 구역을 벗어나지 않았습니다. 추가적인 비용이 들어갈 이유가 없고.. 관련해서 사우나든.. 응접실이든.. 뭐든... 청와대에서 쓴 것이 문제라면.. 역대 대한민국 정권의 대통령들 모두 비난의 대상입니다. 그런데.. 윤석열 전 대통령을 옹호하고 이재명 정권을 비난하는 이들중... 청와대 관련 호화시설을 언급하며 문재인 전 대통령이나 그의 영부인을 언급하는 이들이나... 역대 정권에서 쓴 곳이라는 연대책임에 대해선 아무런 언급도 없습니다. 아마도 자신들이 지지했던 역대 대한민국 대통령중에 보수성향의 대통령까지 싸잡아 비난의 대상으로 올리는걸 회피하고 싶어서겠죠.

 

윤석열 전 대통령이 머물렀던 집무실... 일하는 장소인 그 집무실에 저런 시설이 있다는 것에 대해 개인적으론 화가 납니다. 일하다 말고 사우나 가서 땀 빼고 잠 자고.. 해도 되는건가 의문이 듭니다. 

 

국민들은 누구나 이런 의문을 가질 만합니다. 어느 누가 회사에서 직장에서 일하다 말고 근무시간중에 빠져나와 사우나 가고 잠을 자고 하겠냐고 말이죠. 더욱이 대통령입니다. 잠자는 시간 아껴서 일이나 하라고 요구도 있을 엄중한 책임의식이 요구되는 직종입니다.

 

거기다.. 저런 시설이 청와대에 있었다고 물타기를 한들... 애초 그곳을 나오지 않았다면 대통령 집무실 이전비.. 그리고 집무실 내 시설 개조비는 들어가지도 않았을 비용임은 누구도 부인할 수 없습니다. 집무실을 이전하고.. 그리고 개조하는 비용은 과연 적은 돈이라 할 수 있을까요? 거기다 위의 보도는 대통령실 집무실이지만... 관저도 비슷한 시설 설치 및 개조를 위해 들어간 비용을 생각하면... 한숨이 나오는게 이상하진 않을 겁니다. 

 

마지막 보도에는 이렇게 언급합니다.

하지만 소문으로만 떠돌던 전용 공간이 사실로 드러나며 국민과 역사의 평가를 받게 됐습니다.

최소한... 쓸데없는 짓(집무실, 관저 이전)을 하여 혈세낭비한 것에 대한 평가는 분명 좋지 않을 것이라 확신합니다.

Isn't it justifiable to criticize this?

Perhaps they will try to deflect by claiming it's the same as the previous administration, the Moon Jae-in administration.

However, if they try to deflect in this manner by mentioning the Moon Jae-in administration, they would need something to counter two inherent criticisms.

Firstly, the Moon Jae-in administration's office and residence were at Cheong Wa Dae. If the environment of Yoon Suk-yeol's office was similar, one might logically argue that Cheong Wa Dae would also have had such facilities. In that case, if the relocation to Yongsan had not been enforced, there would have been no need for additional expenses to use the existing facilities, thus preventing wasteful spending of public funds. However, despite various justifications, the move from Cheong Wa Dae to Yongsan was pushed through, and these convenience facilities were created not in an official residence, but in an office—specifically, the former Joint Chiefs of Staff building. And it is likely that the official residence also has similar facilities.

Regarding the money issue, even if they invoke previous administrations, they cannot escape the criticism that the public funds spent on creating these facilities were excessive.

Secondly, all past administrations had their presidential offices and residences at Cheong Wa Dae. The Moon Jae-in administration merely used the existing office and residence from the previous administration and did not expand beyond that area. There was no reason for additional costs. If using facilities like a sauna or reception room at Cheong Wa Dae is considered problematic, then all presidents of previous administrations would be targets of criticism. However, among those who defend former President Yoon Suk-yeol and criticize the Lee Jae-myung administration, there is no mention of the luxurious facilities related to Cheong Wa Dae by former President Moon Jae-in or his First Lady, nor any collective responsibility for places used by previous administrations. Perhaps they want to avoid criticizing conservative presidents among their supported former leaders.

Personally, I am indignant that such facilities existed in former President Yoon Suk-yeol's office, a place of work. I question whether it is acceptable to go to a sauna or sleep in the middle of a workday.

I believe the public would also concur. Who among us would leave their company or workplace during working hours to go to a sauna or sleep? Moreover, this is the President, a position that demands a rigorous sense of responsibility, with demands to work diligently, even sacrificing sleep.

Furthermore, even if they attempt to deflect by arguing that such facilities existed at Cheong Wa Dae, no one can deny that if the office had not been moved in the first place, the costs for relocating the presidential office and renovating its facilities would never have been incurred. Can the cost of relocating and renovating the office truly be considered a small amount? Adding to this the costs incurred for installing and renovating similar facilities in the official residence—though the report focuses on the presidential office—it would not be unusual to sigh in exasperation.

The final part of the report states:

However, the dedicated space, previously only rumored, has now been confirmed, and it will be subject to the evaluation of the public and history. 

 

I am confident that, at the very least, the evaluation for the wasteful spending of public funds on such unnecessary actions (relocation of office and residence) will certainly not be positive.
